Yes, ChatGPT can help carry out OSINT research. It can plan an investigation, search public web sources when that tool is available, explain techniques, and analyze information you provide. Its reach depends on its enabled tools, connected services, permissions, and the sources it can actually access.

What ChatGPT can do

Where the limits are

ChatGPT does not automatically have universal access to account-registration records, private profiles, breach databases, or every OSINT provider. It can retrieve some public profile and infrastructure information through web search, and connected plugins can add authorized services. The specific tool and source determine what a lookup can establish.

A model can also misread a record, invent a detail, or join two people who share a username. Confirm important claims against the original evidence. A missing search result does not prove that an account or record does not exist.

Osintly Assistant: targeted lookups inside ChatGPT

Osintly Assistant is our official entry point in ChatGPT. Its current scope includes IP and domain intelligence, platform tools, individual module lookups, and the Radar breach feed.

GPT and plugin access: the original GPT page currently directs users toward the Osintly Assistant plugin, with the GPT available during the transition. Follow that page for the current access option. ChatGPT availability, usage limits, and any Osintly tool requirements still apply; access to an assistant does not imply unlimited searches.

AI Analyst: work through an Osintly result

AI Analyst is the conversational panel on an eligible saved Osintly result. It is a separate feature inside Osintly.

Its starting point is the data returned for that search. Check its interpretation against the original cards and any linked external sources. It can still make mistakes, and a chart or timeline cannot fill gaps in the underlying evidence.

AI Analyst does not launch a new full OSINT search job by itself. Supplementary web and leak-detail actions are separate from rerunning the base search. It is not included in free previews or temporary searches.

For personal plans, current pricing lists AI Analyst on Pro and Ultimate. Pro includes 3 conversations per search and 100 messages per month; Ultimate includes 10 conversations per search and 500 messages per month.

Data and privacy

Osintly's Privacy Policy says that optional AI actions may send research data to third-party AI services to generate the requested output. Review that policy before using those features. Using Osintly Assistant in ChatGPT also involves ChatGPT's data handling and the integration's permissions. Share only material you are authorized to process.
